Our Story:

In September 2015, CARE UK Charity was established in response to the heart-breaking image of 4-year-old Aylan Kurdi, which prompted our founder to make a heartfelt plea on Facebook.

The overwhelming support led to our first aid shipment to Greece and sparked our ongoing commitment to humanitarian aid and community support.

Global Impact: Delivering Aid Across Borders

Between 2015 and 2022, CARE UK Charity sent seventy 40ft containers of donated aid to regions affected by the refugee crisis, including Greece, Cyprus, Turkey, Syria, Uganda, and Ukraine.

Our commitment to making a difference is shown in the thousands of miles travelled and the countless lives we’ve touched.

Helping Local Families in Warrington

In 2016, seeing the need closer to home, we established our Homes Team. This initiative helps local families and individuals, often moving into social housing with very little, by providing essential items to set up their homes.

We work closely with local councils and organisations such as Warrington Borough Council, Your Housing Group, Torus, and the Warrington Food Bank to ensure that those in need receive the support they require.

We’ve also furnished homes for refugee families, ensuring they have everything needed to change a house into a home. Our support includes furniture, household goods, and personal care products to fill critical gaps.

Where We Are Now: Addressing Urgent Local Needs

Since Brexit, CARE UK Charity has shifted its focus to address the urgent needs of families and individuals in Warrington.

We help those facing challenges like illness, escaping abuse, job loss, and mental health struggles. By providing essential items, we ease the pressure of choosing between food, rent, and other basic necessities.

Through strong partnerships with local councils and community organisations, we reach those most in need. Committed to inclusivity and diversity, we ensure everyone receives support with dignity and respect. We continue to adapt to meet the changing needs of our community, always focused on helping people live with comfort and hope.

"I thoroughly enjoyed my afternoon volunteering for the CARE UK Charity, and had not thought enough about what goes into managing the shop.  I will be volunteering again, and I know that I will get so much more satisfaction from doing the volunteering. I wholeheartedly recommend that everyone take the opportunity to volunteer and take the time out to understand better the outstanding work being done by Care UK." Alan
